May 2005 It was a trip of change for the regular members of MTEE instead of the long journey across Europe we enjoyed the pleasant environment of a plane. Earlier in the month a truck had gone out to Romania with the much needed aid we would need when we arrived. Two first timers to Romania had joined us on this trip, Rev. Darren Johnson from Kings church in Warrington and the youngest member Stephen Watts who attends St.Mary’s church in Runcorn. The full team consisted of Fred Horn, Carl Edwards, Robin Bold, Darren Johnson, Stephen Watts and my self John Rushworth.
Street Kid Update
After Meeting Radu who works with the street kids in Cluj we were left with mixed feelings, Radu was working wonders with the street kids that frequent the streets of Cluj it was obvious that he was getting tired. The fantastic work he was doing with these forgotten children and his university studies were taking its toll on this remarkable young man. We joined Radu on a walk through the city streets to meet some of the street kids, the affection and respect these young kids have for Radu is beyond belief; this kind of hands on experience was some thing of an eye opener for the new members of the team. The dirty state of the children we encountered was some thing they never expected to see. A lot of the children were the same age as Stephen and it had quite an effect on him.
A Slight Overdose of Church
I was Easter weekend in Romania, having Darren with us meant he was in great demand to preach in as many churches as we could fit in. The fist service was in the Oasis church in Cluj, after lunch it was a five hour drive south to Sacele, The timing was perfect we arrived just in time to go through Sacele straight to the village church in Zizin for there evening service. Monday saw us in Zizin for the morning service a afternoon break then to Sacele for the evening service Tuesday evening they held another service and had asked Darren to preach, a big tank you goes out to Darren who not only Preach the word of God, and even managed not to preach the same sermon twice,
All We Need Is.
There is no doubt that the generosity of so many people is what keeps the wheels of Mission to Eastern Europe in motion. It would seem that every item we require would suddenly become available. For this we are very grateful. However the most importment commodity we require is MONEY. To fund our many projects money is vital and without the generosity of so many people so projects would get finished and many Romanians would suffer. Help Us To Help Them!!
